There's a lot in the Mueller report on a 'peace plan' for Ukraine quietly pushed by Kilimnik in consultation w Manafort, but it's totally silent on this other plan, which involved Cohen, Sater, Flynn, and a Ukrainian lawmaker who claimed Putin's backing. nytimes.com/2017/02/19/us/…
It's an odd omission because the plans appear very similar and were advanced around the same time; plus, Cohen, Sater and Flynn all ended up cooperating with the investigation. The Ukrainian lawmaker, Andrii Artemenko, isn't mentioned in the Mueller report at all.
Seems like something Congress could ask about

Papadopoulos's knowledge that Russia "could assist the Campaign through the anonymous release of info that would be damaging to Clinton" reached the govts of Greece, Australia and the US by July 2016, but there's no documentary evidence it ever reached the Campaign he worked for.
The way they left this Papadoulos, Clovis business--I don't know, man. It offends common sense.
He's blabbing about this "dirt" to third parties within days, but no documents show he ever told campaign staff, even as he's constantly messaging and cajoling them about the dumb meeting proposal, and they all plead lack of memory...so, obv, time to wrap up the investigation.

I don’t think this trend is primarily about NYT. It’s about how Barr’s aggressive messaging gambit proved untenable and maybe left the president somewhat politically fragile.

Thread - Here's my attempt to sort out of what this report is saying happened prior to election day 2016: The Russian govt attacked a US election, a major US political party, and a presidential campaign. They did this to damage the US, hurt Hillary Clinton, and help Donald Trump.
One aspect of the attack was the hacking and dissemination of Democrats' private documents, a process that did not practically require any Trump campaign assistance. Nevertheless, Trump, parts of his campaign, and his other associates eagerly sought to learn about and shape it.
Another aspect was a propaganda campaign mostly carried out on social media. For this too, the Russians did not practically require any Trump campaign help to carry out the scheme. Nevertheless, unwitting members of the campaign consumed and amplified this Russian propaganda.

B) Manafort discussed "Ukraine peace plan" with Kilimnik

3/ Manafort sharing polling data with Kilimnik (and thus with Deripaska) in spring/summer 2016 doesn't look good, but by itself, I don't think it moves the needle much. Seems plausible that Manafort was just showing off his own usefulness by showing Trump had a chance to win.

#Manafort charging document for today's guilty plea includes details of his planting disinformation in US press to smear political rivals of his pro-Russia clients in Ukraine. Eg "Plant some stink on Tymo"—painting a female rival as a criminal who paid for murder. Sound familiar?
Manafort had used the same propaganda smear tactics in Ukraine that Trump rolled out in his campaign for president in 2016. Manafort not only had Tymo soliciting murder. He pushed tribal divisions, using "Obama Jews" & anti-Semitism to tarnish her. assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4883…
