This is an incredible book, and everyone should read it. (It's also very short and highly readable.)

Here's a key paragraph from the introduction:
The author was a teacher who gradually realized that for African countries to escape poverty, they would need much more than developed-country generosity.
The book is hardly a wide-eyed paean to the beauty of global capitalism.

But all the same, it's a reminder that the most positive transformations in the world can often be pushed forward by selfish, small-minded people.
If you liked books like "Concrete Economics" and "How Asia Works", or if you're a fan of Ha-Joon Chang and Dani Rodrik, you should definitely read this book.
Note: This book is NOT about Chinese GOVERNMENT investment in Africa - the big infrastructure projects or loans that you hear about in the news.

It's about private Chinese entrepreneurs moving to Africa, building factories there, employing Africans, and partnering with Africans.
Basically, this is the best book I've found so far about African industrialization, which is one of the most important things happening in the world - perhaps THE most important.

Get it. Read it.
