How many of these savvy, can-do boomers wouldn't be able to read this article if it wasn't for their millennial family members setting up the WiFi, removing the viruses from their devices bc they keep falling for phishing attacks, and closing out the five dozen pop-up windows?
As a Gen-X former mechanic, I can tell you that there are hordes of boomers out there who most certainly did not emerge from the womb with a flathead screwdriver, because they wouldn't be able to tell you what it did even if they had a instruction manual and tutorial video.
To all those replying that they are boomers and have tech proficiency, great. You'll note that I was careful with my language so as not to say "all boomers." I'm glad you reject lazy generational stereotypes, because that's my entire point.
(and, yes, the slate piece is actually critical of this anti-millennial smugness, but it got shared on my TL with a 'I hire millennials and yes they're so clueless and lazy" comment--so thus my annoyance.)
