I wrote a story today sitting at a picnic table beneath a large tree in a garden on the side of SCOTUS. Not bad.
It just occurred to me that this moment was quintessential America. I am a member of a press that is still free, sitting next to a courthouse, writing about the Fourth Amendment. The job is tough but this is why I love it. Warts and all.
Color from the court: Ginsburg sounded strong today. Her voice was less gravelly and more clear than usual. So when she delivered this remark:

"Presumed consent? That’s fiction. It’s not consent."

I heard it loud and clear.
This was also a particularly interesting argument to cover because it could impact the public broadly and may have received greater attention on a less busy day at court! #FourthAmendment
