The fight over redactions in Mueller's report is just getting started: At a court hearing today in FOIA cases filed by BuzzFeed News/@JasonLeopold and @EPICprivacy, the judge set a series of deadlines stretching into the summer
DOJ is set to provide a copy of the report that'll be largely identical to the redacted version that's public, but with markings specific to what they're withholding as exempt under FOIA — that's set to come by Monday
EPIC's lawyer said today that they and BuzzFeed plan to challenge all of the redactions. The judge expressed skepticism about that, noting the govt can definitely withhold certain info under FOIA, such as grand jury material

NEW: DOJ confirms AG Barr will not show up tomorrow for a hearing before the House Judiciary Comm.

"Congress and the Executive branch are co-equal branches of government, and each have a constitutional obligation to respect and accommodate one another’s legitimate interests."
DOJ objected to the committee's plan to have staff attorneys question the AG in addition to members.

DOJ spox: "Chairman Nadler placed conditions on the House Judiciary Committee hearing that are unprecedented and unnecessary. "

News in Trump's lawsuit challenging subpoenas to Deutsche Bank & Capital One:
- House committees will seek to intervene (they aren't defs right now)
- Trump's prelim injunction is coming by May 3
- House committees agreed to delay subpoena deadlines until PI motion is resolved

Breaking: The Department of Justice announces in a court filing this morning that it will be filing a "Statement of Interest" — similar to an amicus brief — in the pending Harvard affirmative action case. John Gore is the top signatory, so, here we go.
