a couple of identifications in Carter Page FISA.

It expressed alarm that Trump campaign had softened language in Republican platform about giving arms to Ukraine, referring to "July article" in "identified news organization".

2/ FISA application also expressed concern about Trump's "more conciliatory words" about Crimea, blaming this on Trump's "recent association with several people sympathetic to Russian influence in Ukraine", including Page. "August 2016 article" probably politico.com/story/2016/08/…
3/ reason that Ukraine platform reference caught my eye was because two of earliest Mueller interviews (see my chronology ) were with never-Trump opponents of a conciliatory policy on Ukraine. Such policy issues should NOT be relevant to FISA surveillance
4/ here's something interesting: Mueller Report (pdf,229) used identical newspaper article when it raised question about Trump's move to more conciliatory policy concerning Ukraine.

3/ here's a brilliant phrase. Author Guinn says that universities then "extracted every ounce of the credential premium for themselves as a license fee". It is this appropriation of the credential premium which has inflated university salaries, student costs and increased debt.

in Jan 2017, at start of leaking campaign, "officials" made a point of saying that Flynn "calls were picked up as part of routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials and agents in United States".

No one analysed this, but was it disinformation?
2/ in the same WaPo article (Nakashima, Miller), "US officials" also said that Flynn himself was "not the active target of an investigation"
3/ Mueller Report contradicted earlier claim. It said that "FBI had [already] opened an investigation of Flynn based on his relationship with Russian government" and that "Flynn's contacts with Kislyak became a key component"

1/ On cue, climate zealots pronounce high 2019 Ottawa River runoff as evidence of global warming. Spring runoff flooding in Canada is mainly due to snow melt: more snow = more runoff. Below is plot of observed daily maximum runoff at Gatineau to date plus projected peak this week
2/ Historic data: ottawariver.ca/historical-wat…; 7 day current: ottawariver.ca/river-levels-f…; projected max ottawariver.ca/Forecast-2019.…
3/ time series up to 2016 showed a decline from levels in the mid-1970s. If global warming led to higher Ottawa River runoff as opportunistic zealots like Jonathan Overpeck allege, then it would be observable in data to 2016 as well as to 2019.

One note on Kris’s first point, that the disclosure of a FISA application is alone monumental, even if redacted heavily, as this one is:
Back in the mid-1990s, as a young reporter for Legal Times, I wrote a long piece on the FISA Court and process, about which almost nothing substantial had previously been written.

1) Alright, I'm livetweeting reading this memo. Holy fucking ballsacks.
2) FISA warrants have to be initially approved, the renewed every 90 days, with NEW PROBABLE CAUSE justifying each renewal.
3) As announced elsewhere, the FISA applications state only that Steele was working for a US person, NOT for Fusion GPS and ultimately the DNC and Hillary campaign.
