2. We have no way of verifying the authenticity of these materials. It is entirely possible that those who provided them to us have selectively edited, redacted, or otherwise altered them. We conclude it is impossible to solve this problem, and thus choose to release as-is.

3. The alternative - never releasing this data set publicly, and/or attempting to manually verify every item therein - is unacceptable, in that it creates high risk that those exposed in this leak will continue to torture with no hindrance. This choice is an ugly one.

5. The leaks we received are not in the form of the raw Telegram chat log format that would have been their original form. This means someone has done substantive re-formatting of them, at the least. This is, to us, far from ideal. It is what we received from this source.

7. Some cross-corroboration can be done within this intiial data set, which lends credence to the integrity of those (& perhaps more) parts of the data. This is, at best, relative. Some materials herein - videos & photos - are not trivial to fake. Some are trivial: text.

8. Our approach is to publish multiple, separate copies of this leak - some reformatted, some not - to enable forensic comparison amoungst them to improve confidence & highlight variances. This is taking place urgently. We regret not doing it immediately, but life is imperfect.
9. We have undertaken hundreds of hours of work to independently verify some parts of these files, based on many separate talks with self-styled "insiders" explaining & expanding on these files. This work is not fully probative, but to us strongly backs the core of this leak.

10. We consider each & every narrator & source involved in this leak to be absolutely unreliable. These people are lying, manipulative, amoral, disgusting monsters. All of them, across the board. We do not "trust" any, but compared their separate narratives in minute detail.
11. In sum, we suspect that some torturers have been edited out of this version of the #TortureFiles. We cannot prove this, nor can we fix it if it happened. So, again, we are releasing what we have - supplemented by further snapshots forthcoming. This is the best we can do.
12. Multiple "sources" have approached is in recent weeks w/ narratives that, on inspection, failed numerous tests of veracity. We conclude those are efforts to misdirect & confuse our effort to make sense of these files. These conclusions are unanimous within our team.
13. The log files themselves include several instances in which torturers discuss efforts to misdirect & discredit nascent efforts, in the past, to investigate their actions & expose them. Misdirection is part of their framework. This aligns w/ the misdirection attempts we saw.
14. We have received numerous threats from multiple, often anonymous, directions during this work that if we did not discontinue &/or redirect our focus, we would suffer personal consequences. We rejected each & every one, with extreme vehemence. Fuck you, torturing scum.

15. Rumours within our community of these monsters have in fact existed, external of these leaks, for many years. This further bolsters our sense that these leaks align w/ independent signs of these horrors. We do not feel these are imaginary scenarios, but that they are real.
16. Last fall's partial leak of these records did result in several arrests of individuals definitively tied to specific screen names in these leaks. This provides further support of the general veracity of the existence of these monsters on Telegram & connection to RL actions.
17. Heavy last-minute pressure was placed on us not to release these logs as they would "harm innocent zoos." Upon review of the logs, we see no evidence of such risk. Indeed, the logs show torturers previously using this false excuse to block, tragically, near-miss exposures.
18. These monsters are not zoophiles. Anyone reading these logs will see that, themselves, in terrible contrast. They *do* hide within our community, & mask as us when threatened w/ exposure. THEY ARE NOT US. We hate them with pure, deep, unbounded force. They are the anti-us.
19. These logs exist & are public due to the work & sacrifices of many legitimate, caring, courageous zoophiles who often paid terrible prices to help move this to success. This is not new; our community has always quietly "dealt with" these monsters. The scale of this is new.
20. We are aware that some bigots will use these materials to smear & demean zoophiles, as if these monsters reflect our community. Despite that known cost to all of us, we release these logs. The zoo community will gladly pay *any* price to stop these monsters. So be it.

21. There is a risk that ongoing law enforcement efforts are disrupted by this release. If true, we deeply regret this. We trust that law enforcement will contact us if this is the case, & we will do all possible to mitigate & reverse. Meanwhile, we simply must release the data.
22. These leaks are public because of, amazingly enough, our @ZooierThanThou podcast. We thank each & every listener who shared data, insight, advice, & wisdom that helped us dig through mountains of bullshit to unearth what we think are important materials. Thank you, zoos!
23. One torturer who features prominently in this leak - Tim Amaroso aka Rainstirs/matemutts/dogdude - has prior torture crimes in his past, & our team actually previously hunted & stopped him, in 2009. This lends further credence to the veracity of the hellish acts described.
24. Our intention w/ publishing these leaks is to ensure these monsters are forever know, by their real names, to every human being on our planet. This, we feel, will forever cripple their ability to operate freely. We know of no other sanctions more effective, or available.
We request that our community (& non-zoos) continue to help us refine, expand, & correct these data via your submissions & discussions with us. We are imperfect; these data are imperfect. We must all continue to improve them. We will do that work. Help us do it well. Please.

26. There is a degree of irresponsibility in releasing known-reformatted, impossible-to-verify, explosive data like this from 100% unreliable sources. We accept that. These people torture puppies & dogs to death. We take the burden of our choice, in order to stop this horror now.
27. It is entirely possible that innocent people have been intentionally injected into these leaks to punish them, cripple them, etc. If that has happened, we are unimaginably sorry. Contact us, prove your truth, & we'll work w/ you to correct this terrible false-claim.

29. Journalists: every person who enabled these disclosures is a zoophile, some open & most - for our families' safety & ours - closeted. We, largely, don't trust you as you malign us so often. Irrespective, please let us help you tell the truth of these events. That comes first.
30. Finally, this is an horrific thing. Our souls are, individually & as the zoo community, bruised deeply. No matter; we must continue w/ zero respite to pursue this disgusting rot so it is gone, forever. Our central concern, as zoophiles, is for the nonhumans at risk in this.
