Chants of “We Want Joe” as Biden finishes his half hour-ish pitch in Pittsburg. Basically one long appeal to middle classes. Workers robbed of dignity, growth only benefitting the rich, $15 minimum wage, praise for unions. An attempt to woo Dems who went for Trump in 2016.
Biden’s speech largely devoid of attacks on Trump (unlike his campaign announcement vid), instead focussing on his economic message. All about the need to “restore, rebuild and respect the backbone of America, the middle class”.
Biden:

“The country wasn’t built by Wall Street bankers, CEOs and hedge fund managers. It was built by you.”

“It’s not enough for the stock market to rise. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s not enough.”

“Too many people can’t look at their kids and say it’s going to be okay.”
Biden leant in heavily to personal history to back up his workers pitch.

Said his nickname was ‘Middle Class Joe’. Told anacdote about how distraught his father was when bank turned down loan to pay for school fees. Mentioned his Scranton, PA roots.
Most telling bit of Biden event was when the union leader endorsing him warned crowd that “we can’t have a nominee who is too far left”. Room suddenly quietened. The applause line flopped.

A sign, perhaps, that even among Biden-backers there is a desire for party to move left.
