Quick shout out to all the LibDems attacking my "strategic voting guide" for the upcoming EUROPEAN elections: it's not a good look when you're denying reality. That's something we've accused Brexiters of doing countless times. Don't fall into the same trap.
And the facts are that - according to the most recent regional polling data on EUROPEAN election voting attentions - the LibDems are not the most logical choice for pro-Remain voters in some areas, but they are amongst the best choices in others.
LibDems, Greens and Change UK may have refused to collaborate, but that doesn't mean that remain-minded voters should ignore the option of voting tactically. And as polling day nears, we'll get a better and better idea of which party/ies that means voting for to maximise MEPs.
And I say all that as a paid-up LibDem member. This is not a GE. This is not local elections. This is all about the EUROPEAN elections, which are fought under completely different rules and require completely different strategies. Brexit is bigger than party.
So please, get off your hobby horses and do your own number crunching. Or point out - politely - if I've made a mistake in my own figures (which is eminently possible). But don't rubbish the process just because it doesn't produce your desired outcome. You're better than that!
To end: I am really very disappointed. I've been banging the drum for Remain non-stop for as long as I can remember. And this is the first time I've faced a concerted attack. For it to have come from LibDem supporters beggars belief.
