i know i said the fundraiser was over. & i am SO PROUD of the $6000 we raised for @WVFREE, but i just read this profile of @smartstatistic and the work being done by @FundMSabortions and i am just blown away. can you help me get them closer to their goal?

if the story was retracted, we deserve a statement about why. this just looks like the city is trying to change the record and the local media is helping them do it
the city tried forcing the daily progress to retract the story that sparked the bizarre meltdown someone in city government had last week. the progress stood by their story.

in 2001, alabama had 12 abortion clinics. today it has 3. the state has a mandatory 48 hour waiting period, meaning someone in mobile has to drive two hours each way twice, two days apart, to access a simple medical procedure.

(thread) I don't talk about it much, but I am so so proud of my work with Tennessee United ( a grassroots org I founded in last September). In less than 10 months, this tiny group of 6 has successfully:

(1) Launched a campaign to stop the unjust deportation #freedomforedgar
(2) Held a press conference in front of the Chattanooga Sherriff's office to demand the release of Edgar (never happened before. Like ever)

(3) Raised over $5,000 in a month to go to @UNITEDWEDREAM 's Congress in FL.
(4) Bird dogged, connected with, and met with the Hamilton County Department of Education Superintendent in order to Pitch Summer of Dreams, a summer program from high schoolers to teach organizing, leadership development, and more (shoutout to my MOM and DAD for doing this!)

It would take me a month of Sundays just to list all the discriminatory voting laws passed by states that weren't allowed to pass such laws without express permission, when section 4(b) of the VRA was still law of the land.

The main cause of wild bee declines is likely the introduced disease from managed bees. How does adding more managed bees to a system solve this problem?
Conserving our native bee biodiversity is a food security & climate justice issue. Homogenizing bee communities by adding 1000s of non-native insects, which also take food to keep them awake over the winter, reduces our resiliency with increased global change.
Many ppl rely on their own gardens to fresh food to feed their families. Study after study shows diverse wild bee communities are better pollinators for crop plants. Bringing in managed hives, then removing them, leaves the ppl relying on free ecosystem services out of luck.
