I keep thinking about a cranky, angry man who is known to not work well with others getting called "gruff but endearing" and thinking about all the horrible names women get called just for daring to exist.
It's not lost on me that men's anger is seen as endearing and women's anger is seen as disqualifying.
ever noticed what happens when a woman (rightfully) angrily replies to men #onhere who say vile things to/about them? They're hysterical bitches who need to "get help." It's turned around so that the woman looks aggressive while the man who was actually the asshole gets a pass.
anyway - not a single woman would ever get called "gruff but endearing" and this shit is going to continue until the end of time as long as men (especially white men) shape the political narrative.
