This morning FBI director Chris Wray tells the Senate Appropriations Committee he expects Russian interference in American election infrastructure will continue into the 2020 election cycle.

Additionally, Wray said he "personally has no evidence" that illegal spying on the Trump campaign occurred during the 2016 election. During an exchange with Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who asked directly if the FBI spied, he said:

"I want to be careful about how I answer that question here because there is an ongoing OIG investigation. I have my own thoughts based on limited information but I don’t think it would be right or appropriate for me to share that at this stage."

Shaheen mentions Barr's disclosure during recent testimony that he is forming a task force to look into illegal surveillance of the Trump campaign.
Barr said during testimony that he and Wray would work closely together.

Shaheen moves to confirm this but Wray is cautious when speaking but says of Barr: "He is trying to get a better understanding of circumstances at the department surrounding the initiation of [the Mueller probe]...

"We’ve been in close contact about it and we’re working together to help him get the understanding he needs and I think that is appropriate," Wray says.
