Was wandering along the streets afterwards (and accidentally found myself in rich-peoples-ville, which is maybe a story for another thread) - and then I found myself here. I felt compelled, stepped in hesitantly, and was welcomed warmly. A beautiful, tender, precious, holy space
Was wandering further and decided I needed to eat something - felt a vibe about this place, and said hello - told them it’s my first time in the States + last day in SF and asked them to give me what *they* like to eat. Lovely folks who plan to travel soon too. It’s delicious ofc

I feel like cold weather makes the absence and presence of human touch more pronounced. Like when I’m in a hot, sweltering, sticky place like SG I just want “cold” showers and air-conditioning all the time. But in SF my fingers and toes tingle with cold and I relish every hug
I also realize I never appreciated how rough it must be for homeless people in colder places, physically + psychologically. “Left outside in the cold” is a thing I didn’t *understand*. In SG you can lie on the street at 2am in your underwear and it wouldn’t be too uncomfortable
More specifically I also suspect that SF get hornier after dark because the cold makes you lonelier. Just a vibe. At a very primitive level I feel like we need other people more when it’s cold. Or more... stuff (a fire, a coat, a hot drink, whatever - all often aided by others)

🥇These members of the 115th Congress didn’t think about the political ramifications, their reputations or the timing; they just voted honorably not to table the measure to impeach a prez who is clearly not abiding by the law or representing our country the way it deserves to be.
🏆Most of these members of the 115th Congress are still in Congress, but some are Governors or in new positions. One member, Louise Slaughter D-NY, sadly died in 2018. More on her later.

I love statistics- keeping track of things and analyzing the data to see what I can learn. In 2017, I started riding an e-bike and tracked all my rides using google timeline & my bike odemeter. I can see how many how many rides I had, where I went and for how long rode
All this data may seem like mundane information but when properly presented, it gives a better idea of how I get around the city.
The goal was to use my car less and ride my bike more. After a full year in the saddle, I found I was able to reduce by car usage by almost 40%. Even more so, 1/3 of all my miles traveled were on an e-bike.

Tomorrow is the first day of summer vacation, and also the first day of #totalmunisummer. We will ride from Dogpatch to the Marina on the 22 Fillmore, hit the Marina branch of @SFPublicLibrary and come back to 4th and King on the 30 Stockton. @sfmta_muni will the ride be smooth?

Didn't know "Song of Solomon" was a favorite of Obama's. A book that lifted and transformed my mind so completely, it saved me from suicide one day. And I've got tears on my face right now remembering a president who lived on the same planet as me and could comprehend it.
It was maybe more complicated than that. I was in despair, alone, broke and poor, sharing a flat with 5 ppl and sleeping in a platform I'd built above the w/d in the laundry room. Came to Ess Eff to live the truth and escape my twisted family, like so many other LGBT in 80s.
With $500 in cash and my shit in a car back seat. A guitar, of course. Which somehow through all the precipice-of-homeless upheaval, I managed not to sell and still have. But I ate more than a few bagels at the Haight drop-in center.
