A little more- Giuliani said he has “great affection” for Harris, but his former colleague was ignoring critical aspects of Mueller’s report. For example, he said, Mueller’s assertion that he could not “exonerate” Trump was “a perversion of the 2,000 year old burden in any case.”

A special counsel security officer delivered the report to the Deputy Attorney General's office this afternoon. Within minutes, it was given to the AG. At about 4:35, Brian Rabbitt, AG Bill Barr's chief of staff, called Emmet Flood, a White House lawyer, to notify him.
At 5 p.m., Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd gave a letter from Barr addressed to the heads of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, telling them that Mueller had "concluded his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters."

A lot more people trust Mueller’s version of the facts than Trump’s (56 to 33 percent). And Mueller hasn’t engendered the skeptical reaction that Kenneth Starr did as conclusion of investigation seems to near. washingtonpost.com/world/national…
In 1998, 61 percent of Americans said Starr was mainly interested in hurting Clinton; 35 percent said he was mainly interesting in finding the truth. Mueller has the opposite: 57 percent say he’s interested in finding the truth; 36 percent say he’s interested in hurting Trump.

DOJ's Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) has opened an investigation into possible professional misconduct in the Jeffrey Epstein case (miamiherald.com/news/local/art…). OPR inquiries usually end, at worst, w/ employees getting fired. Findings are rarely made public.
As The Miami Herald recently noted, an Inspector General (IG) investigation could lead to a public airing of the facts, but the IG is not allowed to explore prosecutorial misconduct. miamiherald.com/news/state/flo…
(Replacing last tweet which had a typo): For those seeking consequences for Alex Acosta (U.S. attorney during the Epstein case), I'm not sure how an OPR investigation leads to those. Acosta is now the labor secretary; DOJ OPR doesn't handle his discipline.

The 650 (and counting) federal prosecutors who were signatories to the letter saying Trump would have been prosecuted for obstruction caught my eye, so I downloaded the .csv file and got to work - my MS in Statistics needed a workout.

The average years of service at the DOJ of this group is 12.56 years. The median is 8.25. These are not rookies. The longest serving person in this group was Jack Kolar, who left the #DOJ after over 41 years, and promptly went to work @GovAcctProj as their director of litigation
These aren't folks with antipathy for Republican Presidents. 63% of them were 1st hired under a Republican President. TWO were actually hired during Eisenhower - Bob Pennoyer, who has since retired as a partner from that lefty law firm, Patterson Belknap, and Richard Medalie.

More than 370 former federal prosecutors who worked in Republican and Democratic administrations have signed a statement asserting special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s findings would have produced obstruction charges against President Trump — if not for the office he held.
The statement — signed by myriad former career government employees as well as high-profile political appointees — offers a rebuttal to Attorney General Barr’s determination that the evidence Mueller uncovered was “not sufficient” to establish that Trump committed a crime.

Penza is a smart lawyer. According to publicly available information, she studied at Cornell Law School, a private Ivy League University located in Ithaca, New York. Cornell was ranked the #13 law school in America, out of 203 law schools, by U.S. News & World Report, in 2018.
