This is why I can't countenance conservative pearl-clutching over Democrats' flirtation with court-packing. Republicans already subtracted one seat from SCOTUS for more than a year. They made the court's size a matter of politics. They crossed the Rubicon.

Where were conservative commentators during this debate? Ah, yes...
Spare me the sanctimonious hysteria when Democrats talk about adding seats to SCOTUS. Republicans already subtracted one seat for more than a year—for purely partisan reasons—and said they were willing to create a permanent eight-member court if a Democrat won the presidency.
Republicans already declared that the size of the Supreme Court will be decided by partisan politics. Now we're just haggling over the numbers.
