For many years I have heard corrupt police DPOs brag about charging a case to court. I have always had my suspicion which was why we have our own internal arrangement even when cases had to go to court. Those charge&bail lawyers handguns around magistrate courts are in collusion.
They don’t have your interest at heart and are there principally to milk you of your funds. It explains why the next line of action of any police officer having been deprived of collecting bribe sends you off to a kangaroo court to be extorted by his cohorts.
With my experience today with the activities of these miscreants in Ogun State, I can’t but shed tears for the poor under grave oppression of the Criminal Justice System. These enemies of freedom deserve to be hung or decapitated if justice truly must be served.
I know about the robbers at the tax force offices (Abuja & Lagos) whose job is to convince you to plead guilty to avoid lengthy litigation in exchange for a huge fine of N70k or higher. It gets worse for those proving a point or standing their grounds.
The stringent conditions for your bail, even after being oppressed for committing no crime as a victim of police impunity, will depress you further. The documents will never be good enough for them, they will still ask for money & they will claim they have closed severally.
To perfect a bail in Nigeria takes longer than ever due to corruption and the competitive bid by demonic forces to milk you of your money. This is why you should appreciate what @citizen_gavel @AbdulMahmud01 et all are doing to make life easier for us all.
Charge & Bail Lawyers are the quacks of the profession. They are a little short of random individuals who found a wig on the floor and elevated themselves to the position of pseudo legal practitioners working in tandem with corrupt officers to make life worse for the people.
Corrupt magistrates are not left off the hook in the chain of impunity here. Just be safe out there. Our Criminal Justice System In it’s current state is not in your best interest. A system that serially condemns the innocent is one that should be burned down to the ground.
If you’re a professional lawyer who’s earned the gown & wig and people describe you as a “Charge and Bail” Lawyer after their experience of you...I recommend you seek spiritual help. There is nothing commendable about the touts hanging around waiting to feed on the woes of others
If not that I know better it feels like the legal profession is dead. The bench is ruined and impunity and corruption have eclipsed Justice in the country. Supposed Professionals are now reduced to ravaging jackals seeking the next scent of blood.
Suicide is never a solution to any problem however, even though we are pushed to contemplate this when we are out of options. Philosophers often deem this point in life as a point of epiphany. Alan Watts once said that ...
...“the most fundamental philosophical question in life is whether to commit suicide or not.” When you get to this point where you feel you no longer value life or care about others enough to find a niche even when money is no problem...
...you should realize you need an urgent intervention. Hurting others for pecuniary is unsustainable and can only lead to you asking yourself the fundamental philosophical question in life. Think twice and know thyself.
We will not give up however. Regardless of how much the wind howls, the mountain will not bow to it. The transfer window is open and every state will get its own share. Just let us know the corrupt felons the authorities may have missed in your locality for necessary adjustments.
