First of all,Pio Gama Pinto and Jomo Kenyatta were great friends before independence.

Jomo Kenyatta believed that the fruits of independence should be his since very little had been compensated to him despite the the hardships he was subjected to.

After Independence,Pinto and Oginga Odinga weren't happy with how Kenyatta and his people grabbed land which was meant to be given to Kenyans.
And so Pinto started compiling all the lands that was grabbed in order to expose and embarrass the president.

Kenyatta wasn't amused.He confronted him.
The two became bitter enemies where they would publicly and privately abuse each other.They would even fight.

He was however warned by his friends not to hurl insults at Kenyatta calling him a "bastard" and threatening him with "I will fix you bastard".

Pio Gama Pinto was later assassinated on Feb 25th 1965 outside his home by a person alleged to be a police officer who used to drive Kenyatta.
