The claim by @RashidaTlaib that her family welcomed Jews after the Holocaust is one of the biggest historic revisions in history. The truth is the opposite.

1. In 1937, Arabs rejected the Peel Commission plan to partition the land with a tiny Jewish & majority Arab state 1/

2. In 1936 - 1939 the Arabs launch the Arab revolt in mandatory Palestine which results in thousands of deaths to protest and try to halt Jewish immigration to mandatory Palestine.

3. The White Papers of 1939 were issued by Neville Chamberlain under pressure from Arab leadership & because of the Arab Revolt. They limited Jewish immigration to Mandatory Palestine to 15,000 per year. This at a time when Jews were starting to get exterminated by the Nazis. 3/

4. During the Holocaust Grand Mufti Amin al-Husseini met with both Himmler & Hitler. The Mufti headed an SS unit called the 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar. He was also tasked with recruiting an einsaztgruppen unit in the Middle East. 4/

5. In 1994 a secret SS mission called "Operation Atlas" including 3 German Templars and 2 Palestinian Arabs in collaboration with Mufti al-Husseini plotted to poison the Jews of Tel Aviv. In 2000, MI5 declassified 200 documents on the failed mission. 5/

6. After the Holocaust, Jews tried to immigrate to mandatory Palestine and most were stopped by the British and prevented from entering. At this time until 1948 Jews & Arabs were fighting and all were fighting the British. 6/

7. In 1946 the United States under Harry Truman suggested that the British allow 100,000 Jewish refugees into mandatory Palestine because of the post-Holocaust refugee crisis. The British refused because they were convinced it would lead to another Arab revolt. 7/

8. Finally, we know what happened. The mandate ended. The UN partitioned the land. Jews accepted and the Arabs rejected. In 1948 Jews declared independence in the State of Israel and the next day they were attacked by 7 armies.
