This is a reminder of how fruitless it is for Democrats to pick a candidate based on what they think Republicans will say about him/her. They'll say the same things, tell the same lies, whip up the same hate and fear, no matter who it is. No candidate is immune. 1/3
In 2004, it was common to hear Democrats say "A couple of draft dodgers like Bush and Cheney would never question the patriotism of a war hero like John Kerry! Well guess what: They did. And it worked. 2/3
The question isn't whether they have "ammunition." The question is whether the candidate, like B. Clinton or Obama, has what it takes to withstand the attacks and still win. 3/3
