Join me Wednesday morning at 10AM ET as I live-tweet the House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Climate Change and Economic Impact. The House has been working its way through several hearings this year on the intersection of climate and vital U.S. interests.
From 2016 to 2018, most of these hearings on climate, when they occurred, were stymied by debate about whether climate change is real. Since the shift in the House, that "debate" has quieted.
The hearings now hosted by the House on climate have been many and more meaningful because more lawmakers, some Republicans included, have loosed themselves from the "is it real" question and are moving toward the "what do we do" question.
Last month, the House heard from experts on the intersection of climate & nat sec. If you missed my coverage on that, you can catch up here.

While themes have begun to shift in the House, the observation should not be taken as an overly rosy one. But this is some progress. It could arguably give way to even greater progress later, when the Senate is populated by lawmakers who realize the real implications involved.

Dr. Ashish Jha, dir. of Harvard's Global Health Initiative; Ted Halstead, CEO of Climate Leadership Council + Rich Powell, ED, ClearPath Action
I'll have a full story for @CourthouseNews if you miss the live-tweet session. I hope you will join me!
