What’s so curious about demolishing a mosque? Unlike a temple, it’s not the house of a deity. Saudis demolished even Prophet Mohammad’s mosque. Even temples are demolished after taking proper care of the deity.
The Gyan Vapi mosque was built by demolishing the original Vishwanath temple in 1669 AD, by the Sufi Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The grand structure was blasted by cannons. Read this extract from Maasir-i-Alamgiri by Saqi Mustad Khan to understand the extent of Islamic hate:
Sufi Emperor Aurangzeb did better in Mathura. 1669 Ramzan was celebrated by demolishing the temple of Keshav Rai. In Benares, they could not find the murti as it had been spirited away by pujaris. In Mathura, the murtis were placed below the steps of a mosque - Saqi Mustad Khan

There is no difference between the positions of ulema and Sufi mystics on the issue of war or jihad. ‘Sufism’ on the whole is hardly outside the mainstream of normative Islam on this issue, as on others.
Let me dispel 4 myths about Islamic mysticism. The first myth is that there is a wide gap between the activities of the mystic khanqah and those of the scholarly madrasa (and that there is, thus, a vast difference between ‘Sufi’ Islam and normative/mainstream Sunni Islam) #Sufism
The 2nd myth is that mystics are ‘passive’, apolitical and withdrawn from the political affairs of their time. This is not true at all. In particular, check the activities of the Naqshbandis, Qadris and Chishtis. #Sufism

Friends who are sexually active with new partners, what’s your STD testing policy? My minimum is I take HIV tests every 3-6 months and I’m vaccinated for HPV. As for the partner, if someone isn’t tested for HIV and has decent history it’s a definite no.
Oh and of course I always offer to show actual test results and expect the same, don’t want to be shady about it.
(I post about this topic very intentionally on here, because I know not all of y’all are taking proper care of your health and I want to raise awareness and give you a gentle reminder to think about this stuff for yourself too 💛)

I recently came across @patrickc's collection of life advice he wished he could give himself before the age of 20. It inspired me to revisit a similar piece I wrote back in 2012. So here's my "updated" advice for those of you that are around 20—30. (I am about to turn 39.)
2/ When you’re young, you'll find that older people around you are resistant to new ideas that you naturally embrace. This is normal. It can have the impact of making you feel exceptionally open-minded, but you're not. You're just young.
3/ here's the thing- as you age, you'll naturally become more rigid and more beholden to the perspectives you’ve already formed. Your tolerance for risk will decrease over time. You won't notice this happening. It will be automatic and seem like you're "just changing your mind."

lunch break. this morning, judge moore started by saying barring black lives matter shirts from his courtroom is not about restricting free speech, it’s about the right to a fair trial superseding the right to express oneself.
he says BLM shirts in the gallery for this case (a white cop sexually assaulting a black woman in her home on TWO occasions) might influence the jury. buddy, if the idea that black people’s lives have value is gonna a sway your jury, y’all have picked a very bad jury.
