As you'll know, knife crime is a huge issue across the UK

I'm acting in an inquest on Monday for the mum of Lamar Stewart

Lamar's mum is heavily involved in the amazing campaign @OPERATIONSHUT19. As it happened, before I was instructed in this case, I heard an interview about their Google protest and was really impressed. /2

In inquest is meant to find out what happened but also make sure that any failings aren't repeated in future. So it's really important to get it right /3

I used to do quite a bit of graphic design - I'm no expert but I like to think I have an eye for it. The Change UK fliers and advertising hurts me so much I can hardly look at it. I can't even bear to post an image of the flier I just received as it's not fair to my followers
Also, I know Twitter is hardly the place to say this but by making this election about Farage and his ideas you just draw attention to Farage and his ideas. Framing theory 101. Also applies to milkshaking him

It's just a repeat of the mistakes from the first Brexit referendum - by focussing on the lies of the Brexit campaign the end result was just giving them more attention. The mistake is thinking that people trust you more than them

This is quite a story - a Holocaust denial film was apparently written, edited, produced and published by Al Jazeera before a public outcry led to it being taken down. The two journalists are apparently being ‘disciplined’

We've just released the final report by @Alston_UNSR, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme #poverty, on his visit to the #UK. The report is available here: undocs.org/A/HRC/41/39/Ad…. A few key takeaways:
Some have asked me why a UN expert on #poverty would visit the #UK. Unfortunately, although the UK is the world’s 5th largest economy, 14 million are in poverty, child poverty is rising & predicted to reach 40% by 2021, homelessness is up 60%, and food bank use has skyrocketed.
To understand #poverty in the #UK, you have to look at the massive disinvestment in social support since 2010: the end of a centralized social fund, changes to the ways benefits are capped & calculated that substantially reduce their value, the decimation of civil legal aid, etc.

Investigations are SUPPOSED to have a NATURAL conclusion. That means tips, leads, facts, ENTIRE investigation has exhausted all relative leads & come to a VERIFIABLE conclusion. The same way we expect ALL law enforcement to do when we're accused of crimes, or crimes against us

AntiSemitism is a real issue within the left and we need to really sort it out. I cannot imagine what Jewish comrades in the Labour Party and our Jewish compatriots in wider society go through every time the Labour Party fails them and all of us on the issue of anti-Jewish hatred
Of course severity of antiSemitism and the danger it poses from right-wing and violent sources should remain a priority. But if we on the left aren’t even willing to acknowledge there is a problem in our own ranks then we aren’t going to tackle antiSemitism, we in fact enable it.
I can’t even count how many twitter threads I’ve done now on antiSemitism - I’m glad some people listen and pay attention, but a massive number of my fellow leftists just ignore everything being said and carry on as though there isn’t any problem at all.
