I love cars, especially pickups you do not see on the road everyday. I started working on my friends pickup 3 months ago. It is not perfect or even complete but the progress is worth it. 🙏

It started with cleaning agents for the engine 😂😂😂

20l of Petrol too, alot of water, pressure cleaning
Then the Engine
The engine was cleaned, no disassembly was done. We simply checked the crankshaft casing for any defects and cleaned it. We then painted re-installed the oil pan

A new clutch and release bearing was fitted too
The car was initially fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox. A friend had another Mazda B2200 5-Speed manual gearbox in his house that we fit by simply replacing the bell housing. We also had to cut the front cabin for the new gear lever to fit

We are yet to pay him btw
Then we installed new universal joints, the old ones were worn out. A new center bearing was also installed on the propeller shaft

The Differential was OK, we simply installed new oil
The gearbox was thoroughly cleaned, then re-assembled afterwards. I love a clean looking transmission and engine. Ready to be mounted onto the vehicle

A toothbrush for cleaning the smallest nooks
We painted some parts, on the car bonnet
We mounted the gearbox and propeller shaft on the vehicle, but we had to cut the cabin for the new 5-Speed gearbox lever to fit.
Next we fit the engine and parts like the radiator, fan, alternator, carburetor, water pipes, cables, the distributor, starter, exhaust manifold, fuel pump ....

We cleaned the fuel tank too, it was full of sand. Kids had a lot of fun pouring the sand into it where the car was
We put new transmission and engine oil from @Shell
fuel and the car was now moving! The dashboard lights were working too with little repair needed. Just changed bulbs & fuses

A rat had build its humble dwelling in the exhaust pipe, you can imagine the surprise that evening
Biggest problem was getting the car to the body repair garage, but we got there without any hiccup (ie. Meeting Kenya Police)

Gas Welding, Panel beating, Anti Rust protection, removing body broken parts like the side mirrors, windscreen, Door Hinges
Paintwork! My favorite part!
The Black paint, New windscreen and new Rear Tail lights< New headlights too
New door rubber channels
Lovely 😍 and roadworthy

Suspension is the next guy and then a final inspection report from @ntsa_kenya
