Six giant cranes installed at the port of Mombasa to improve the loading and unloading of containers on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) have never worked since they were brought in two years ago at a cost of Sh2 billion,.
The rail-mounted cranes at Port Reitz were bought by the China Road and Bridge Corporation as part of the SGR operations and maintenance contract to handle cargo on the Mombasa-Nairobi SGR. However the massive equipment malfunctioned before breaking down and was abandoned .
Even more puzzling is that CRBC appears to have ignored communication from the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) to ensure that the cranes are either replaced or put in use. Each of the cranes cost Sh355 million, a figure that has also raised questions.

Things took a wrong trajectory immediately after independence.
Jomo Kenyatta believed that the fruits of independence should be his since very little had been compensated to him despite the the hardships he was subjected to.

On April 12, 2019, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) released declassified cold war photos taken by its U-2 spy planes. While the photographs are remarkable, the story of the U-2 itself is even more remarkable.
During the cold war following WWII, the U.S. required imagery of the Soviet Union to determine Russian capabilities and intentions. Overflights by U.S. bombers that had been converted for reconnaissance were vulnerable to anti-aircraft artillery, missiles, and fighter jets.
In the early 1950s, the U.S. Air Force determined that Soviet MiG-17 fighter jets were unable to fly higher than 45,000 feet and they also determined that Soviet radar,much of it used American equipment that had been acquired during WWII, couldn't see above 65,000 feet.

DP Ruto sent a written message to Raila's office ,through Oscar Sudi immediately they were sworn in for a second term in November 2017. In that message,he asked Raila join him to fight "their common enemy" who is Uhuru coz "he was the one in charge of the government"
When the staff in Raila's capital hill office informed him about it,Raila told them to cut any contact with them immediately.
Ruto didn't stop there,he sent Oscar Sudi again to drop another message which Raila ignored.

Feeling that he needed Raila so much to oust Uhuru,Ruto then sent a former powerful female Minister(Name withheld) to personally meet Raila at his office to deliver his message

Two years ago, on 26 April 2017, the USA installed the first launchers of its THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) battery in Seongju, RoK. This was a clear violation of Korean sovereignty that turned Seongju into a base for US surveillance against China and Russia.
Although USA describes THAAD as a "missile defense" system for RoK, MIT Prof. Ted Postol says that THAAD is useful for surveillance on China [and eastern Russia as well], particularly tracking Chinese ICBMs before they reach the USA’s radar horizon.
According to Postol, THAAD's missile-detection system tracks projectiles as points of light. Thus, if a projectile is able to produce light-point decoys to confuse THAAD's tracking system, then THAAD becomes ineffectual for actual missile defense.

@johnnjenga But, but.. high-speed rail in China! The four biggest networks in the world are USA 250,000 km, China 121,000 km, Russia 85,500 km, India 65,000 km. Of these 4, only China (29,000 km) & Russia (1,326 km) have HS railways. HS rail is for passenger service. SGR is freight focused.

The first thing I learned is that even though your policy might claim to cover you at ANY hospital in situations in which you're incapacitated and thus unable to commandeer an ambulance to drive yourself to an in-network hospital, that's not really how it works.
What emergency out-of-network coverage really means is that your insurer will pay ITS standard in-network reimbursement to the out-of-network hospital, which will bill your insurer at ITS exorbitant out-of-network rate. The difference will be yours to cover.
