There aren't too many people who can say that they're TWO major professional sports' Halls of Fame, but Joe Gibbs is one of them. Already in the @ProFootballHOF for nearly a quarter of a century, Gibbs was one of five elected to the @NASCARHall today. #NASCARHOF
There are definitely ties between the five newest inductees. Gibbs and his first two @NASCAR champions, @Bobby_Labonte and @TonyStewart were elected, as were Waddell Wilson and Buddy Baker, who teamed for a record-setting Daytona 500 performance in 1980 that will never be broken.
With guaranteed cautions and pit road speed limits today that weren't in place in 1980, Baker's Daytona 500 record of 177.602 MPH, set in a car who's engine was built by Waddell Wilson, who was also the crew chief for that car, will stand the test of time. #NASCARHOF
