Quick vid of @GoodNotesApp’s killer features for note-taking. In order of demo, and continuing to further tweets below:

1. Strokes are all vectors, so scaleable/zoomable, and remain so in PDF output.

2. Eraser can erase conventionally, or entire strokes at once (so handy).
3. Highlighter always paints BEHIND text, rather than the stupid Notes way which just washes-out the text you’re trying to emphasise. 🙄

4. Highlighter can be set to auto-straightening mode, for neatness.

5. Eraser can be set to erase highlighter only. Ultra useful!
6. Plus of course multiple notebooks, tabs, paper types, vertical or horizontal paging, auto-moving zoomed-in writing window, searchable handwriting and text, text box tool with style defaults, PDF import/annotation, handwriting-to-text conversion, shape detection, etc.
7. (And you can change a page’s paper type on the fly, anytime. Write your notes on lined/squared/dotted/whatever, then switch to blank paper afterwards so it looks👌.)

I've never written 50k words in 30 days, for #NaNoWriMo or otherwise, but I've written two 95k+ novels. Does that qualify me to offer some opinions?

JUST KIDDING; I'm a man on the internet, so _of course_ I'm going to share my opinions, whether you want to hear them or not…
One common way to categorise writers is those who plan/outline first (planners), and those who just wing it (pantsers). I'm a planner, so really I'd say: hey, plan a lot before you start. But it's already 1st November, so I'm a bit late with that advice.
That said, I do highly recommend outlining. Broad strokes first, then iteratively refine until you're sick of doing so. I usually go down to the granularity of groups of a few scenes, and sometimes further. I also recommend reading about the three-act structure.

Alors en Europe, nous avons un règlement #bio eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/… que vous pouvez lire dans toutes les langues EU . Allez y c’est instructif, un peu chiant aussi comme tous les textes règlementaires. Bon ce qu’on note quand même, c’est que le #bio c’est compliqué.

A (not so pleasant) Europhile on Twitter suggested I read the Fact Sheet of the Treaty of Lisbon. Me being me found another document of "adopted texts" for the Treaty which made interesting if not dull reading. My next few tweets will mention what I found.

Quick #Brexit thread on why the Withdrawal Agreement is taking so long to pass Parliament.

At the first run at the meaningful vote in December, 163 MPs spoke.

69 Conservative MPs stood up - but only 27 spoke in favour of the deal, including the frontbench ministers (who must)!
This understates a lot of support for the Withdrawal Agreement in Parliament (because of the payroll vote @addadc is so fond of).

But without the DUP, who remain opposed to the backstop, it is unclear where more support could emerge besides a handful of rebels or independents.
If the Withdrawal Agreement fails (as expected), the PM said there's a real chance of no deal or no Brexit. So what did MPs think?

Some didn't say. But there was massive resistance to the idea of no deal while a significant number (including Tories) backed a 2nd referendum

The UK has taken the lead in efforts for EU enlargement. It pushed for the inclusion of Eastern European states. It pushed for Turkey to get its shit together so that it could join (which it made very slow progress with, and has largely been undone by Erdogan)
After #Brexit, the UK will have no influence on EU enlargement. In fact, as setting the EU as a rival, every country that joins the EU will a) strengthen the EU, and b) unravels any trade deals that the UK will have made with that country, isolating it further.
