Yeah. Paizo was one of the better-paying companies out there (although recent experience with WotC puts them WAY ahead of Paizo at paying freelancers decently), and that was starting freelancers at $0.06/word, up to $0.10/word for AP writers and Paizo employees.
Although one of the many skeezy things Paizo did, albeit a minor one, was, after they fired me (so, I no longer had access to the contract sent to my work mail) they paid me $0.06/word for freelance work I'd done while I was an employee (contracted at $0.10/word).
but like when has the fact that it's illegal ever stopped Paizo from doing anything
