1. THREAD Bipartisan charades. Last night @realDonaldTrump shared a compilation video of Nancy Pelosi stuttering at a press conference earlier in the day.

2. The @washingtonpost published a piece around the same time talking about fake @SpeakerPelosi videos circulating on social media where the videos were slowed down to give the impression of slurred or drunken speech.

3. Naturally, this led to a huge revolt on Twitter led by blue checkmark accounts all claiming that the video Trump shared was doctored.
4. The only problem is none of these people bothered to actually watch the video Trump tweeted or read the Washington Post article. The video is a compilation of moments where Pelosi stuttered during her press conference, but it is NOT the doctored video described in the article.
5. Whether the President of the United States should be tweeting something like this at all is a separate discussion, but there are plenty of compilation videos of him that also take clips out of context.

6. The reality is that the press conference was over 30 minutes long, and she made it through the vast majority of it without any issues. You can watch it for yourself here.

7. It is disingenuous to suggest that she stuttered throughout the press conference, but it is also disingenuous to claim that the video is doctored. This would be like saying that this compilation video of @MichaelAvenatti is a doctored video.

8. As usual both sides are making a big deal out of nothing, and it is causing people to argue about stupid things instead of focusing on real issues such as the espionage charges brought against Julian Assange or increasing tensions with Iran.
