1. You are probably not going to find anything like this in the MSM. This is an analysis of recent tweets by 2020 presidential candidates to see who is the most controversial based on their reply to like ratio. The winners are @BilldeBlasio, @HowardSchultz, and @SenGillibrand.
2. It is generally accepted that if your tweet gets a lot more replies than other engagements (likes, retweets) you said something pretty controversial, and people do not agree. @MerriamWebster is even looking into adding “ratioed” to the dictionary.

3. What is amazing is how the median ratio for @BilldeBlasio’s tweets is over 1. This means the majority of his tweets have more replies than likes. The sample size is only 44, but he is clearly not very popular, and it is somewhat baffling that he decided to run for president.
4. Here is the ratioed hall of fame for the last three months. This gem by @ericswalwell takes the cake. Seems like most people would rather have the bag of chips.

5. Next up is @BilldeBlasio announcing his run for president.

6. This tweet from de Blasio shows just how connected he is with voters. Are you starting to see a pattern here? There are plenty of others from de Blasio, but in an effort to not discriminate let’s look at some of the other candidates.

7. @AndrewYang is generally not very controversial (as you can see from the chart above), but this tweet got ratioed pretty hard. In fact, it was the most ratioed reply other than a couple from Swalwell.

8. This tweet from @HowardSchultz about Medicare for All clearly did not go over well.

9. This tweet from @CoryBooker received some backlash. This should not be too surprising considering gun control is one of the most divisive issues in the country.

10. The most ratioed tweet by @SenGillibrand is the one where she reaches out asking for donors which is probably not a great sign for her campaign.

11. Surprisingly, @realDonaldTrump did not have any tweets over the last three months where the number of replies exceeded the number of likes. His highest ratio was 0.79 from this tweet. /END
