Continuing this week’s running topic of “living small”...

When I was getting ready to sell a house, I used to list a few cheap items at a time on a town Facebook page.

Stuff I knew someone could use. Baby gates, playroom stuff, beach umbrellas, etc.

1/
I’d list them for super cheap. When there was a taker, I’d leave the item on my front porch and the person would leave the money in my mailbox.

If someone swiped something without paying, so be it (but nobody did BTW).

I got rid of my stuff. People got things they needed.

2/
The best part: I shed a ton of things without having to cart it off somewhere.

No, actually, the best part was how happy some of the people were.

Expecting parents, moms, people on tight budgets... all happy to get things they needed for peanuts.

Win-win.

3/
There is something nice about giving away or practically giving away things you no longer want or need directly to people in your community.

For people who find it hard to get rid of things, maybe try it. Finding a new home for your stuff feels good while doing good.
