But they never had a clear look at a Watergate type scenario. That was not Mueller's fault though but an inability of the media to deliver.
The chance to beat Trump will be in 2020. It always was, but they tried a frontal attack first.
Time will tell if it was a mistake; whether they should have coldly prepared for the rematch instead of grabbing the mic from the ring announcer and claiming they wuz robbed.

We may need a mechanism like this in our omniscient, Argus like digital world, lest it be too oppressive. Something akin to reshuffling the pack and cutting the deck. Perhaps forgiveness performs a rational function that moderns have yet to discover.
In Christianity this mechanism takes the form of a buy back. Sin is not extinguished but paid off by Christ but lifted all the same. The physical world seems to have mechanisms for hiding old information and there may be a purpose to why the past dims out for the living.

It's interesting to consider the extent to which ubiquitous surveillance will create a new Victorian respectability, where discovery is ruinous. That may not be as bad as The World Without Second Chances data fusion is building.

Continued dithering by Dem leaders on impeaching Trump has had an extremely damaging effect on the power of #impeachment to protect the rule of law.

They thought it would strengthen their hand to appear reluctant, but waffling has had the opposite effect.
I hate to say this, but I increasingly believe that #impeachment will be far less effective now than it would have been out of the gate in January.

Mealy-mouthed Dem excuses for inaction have telegraphed to the public that impeachment is entirely a partisan political calculus.
Just to be clear: I believe more strongly than ever that Dems should #impeach NOW. And it isn't about Mueller. Incitement of violence against the press is enough. What this thread is saying is that #impeachment will have less teeth than it would have a few months ago.

2/ Up until this point I gave Bob the benefit of the doubt, but once it became abundantly clear that he wasn't serious about proving the underlying crime, the "DNC Hack", I knew that A) the investigation was a hoax and MOST IMPORTANTLY B) Russia Collusion could never be proven!
3/ @AndrewCMcCarthy wrote a brilliant piece in December 2017, contemplating whether Mueller could prove the "Russian hack" beyond a reasonable doubt. Indicting the 12 Russians without my aforementioned prerequisites in (1/) indicated that he never would! nationalreview.com/2017/12/russia…
