Not long after take off, the plane went into an oddly fast decline. I was trying to convince myself this was a normal thing that planes do, when the flight attendant told us we'd need to take the brace position, and made the unhelpfully ambiguous comment of "we're going down."
Anyway we're on the ground now but I'd prefer to never do that again.
In case anyone was wondering, I heard from someone who talked to the pilot and found out what the problem was. The plane had been depressurizing, and that jolting descent was us getting back to an altitude where humans can breathe.
Also congrats to the pilot on the success of his first non-simulated emergency landing. A++ job there buddy, real proud of you.
