Congress has a duty to impeach.

Soon, NOT impeaching will be a dereliction of that duty.

And for those wedded to the 1998 comparison of the GOP ‘paying a price’ consider this: impeachment straddled the ‘98 midterms. Election Day is 17 mos away.

Impeach now, keep 2020 pristine.
To elaborate on my saying impeaching trump in 2019 would keep 2020 “pristine”...

1st, the Johnson & Clinton impeachments were 3-4 months start to finish. The sooner it starts the sooner it ends the longer of a buffer to Election Day 2020 to cleanse the palette.
2nd, Kavanaugh: the hearing was the end of Sept. GOP was in a lather like they hadn’t been under trump. The midterms only 5 wks away. “Liberals are holding a seat hostage” would‘ve been a real motivator.

But he was confirmed, GOP anger dissipated, it wasn’t a real midterm issue.
