Which one of you scratched "the moon rules #1" into the side of my car?
I've had that line in my head for the last hour, and I think I'm going to have to rewatch that ATHF episode tonight just to get it out.

D’Souza claimed there were no Republicans who owned slaves in 1860 and promised he’d have to “take it back” if anyone provided “one solitary” example.

Historians gave nine examples, but he hasn’t taken it back. Instead, he retweeted it again an hour ago.

This is still @DineshDSouza's pinned tweet, with 2.4k retweets, even after @arothmanhistory met his precise parameters by naming one solitary Republican who clearly owned a slave in 1860.

Weird that he hasn't taken it back as he promised.

Poor confused @DineshDSouza challenged people to provide examples of Republicans who owned slaves in 1860, and we've done just that.

You said you'd "take it back" if people provided evidence of a single Republican slaveowner in 1860. Take it back.
Here's the evidence from @arothmanhistory for the clearest example, Francis Blair.

According to the US slave schedule of 1860, Blair owned slaves.

According to the Republican convention of 1860, Blair was a delegate there.

So, @DineshDSouza, take it back.
Honestly, it's just getting sad at this point.

1/ A few observations on #bitcoin, #tether and #crypto regarding what happened in the last 30 days or so. $BTC $ETH
2/ Obviously we all saw that, despite the unwillingness of #tether to provide an audit, there now seems to be enough public or non-public information available to the NYAG for them to allege that $USDT were, at least for a time, not backed up with USD.
3/ Furthermore, the cited conversation between Oz and Merlin shows beyond reasonable doubt (to me) that the #bitfinex/#tether complex engaged in market manipulation to avoid what would be a black-swan event for them

to the 150 or so people (WHY?) who have followed me since the last time i did this... i'm going to livetweet a charlottesville city council meeting tonight. if you think of it like a text format episode of parks & rec, it's very fun!
i'll be back to regular dumb content tomorrow
it's a SHORT agenda tonight... but that doesn't mean it's going to be a short meeting. there's going to be a public hearing on proposed changes to the meeting structure. since this summer, there has (obviously) been greater attendance and engagement at these meetings.
a long, but good, look at the current state of our meetings.
