Was reminiscing with an old friend the other day. He told me a story from 1999 I’d never heard. We were at the Regent Beverly Wiltshire in California celebrating the Busch Series Championship ...

Apparently director Ron Howard had rented a room very close to the ballroom that we were using for the after party. It was late and the party was loud and crazy. I had invited my friends band from back home to play the party....

My friends see the soundman getting approached by a hotel manager and having an uncomfortable conversation. So they go up to see what’s going on and my dad walks up....

The manager says that Ron Howard is a guest at the hotel and has complained about the noise. My dad says “Well did Ron rent out the ballroom, and multiple other rooms?” Hotel manager says “Well no sir but....”

Then dad says “Well tell Ron to either join the party or find another hotel.”

Damn I hate I missed this whole conversation. Dad was a trip! Thanks for sharing this story the other day @BKHinson
Also, Ron never joined us that night.
