1. If you've spent any time on Twitter in June, you've probably seen a bunch of corporations with rainbow flag avatars.

But do these companies really support LGBTQ equality?

Let's follow the money.

2. I identified 9 corporations that received a PERFECT SCORE from the Human Rights Campaign (@HRC) but gave $1 million to anti-gay politicians in the last two years.

These are politicians who received a ZERO on @HRC's Congressional scorecard.

All of this is particularly striking if you look at individual companies. Take @ATT: "We stand in support of the LGBTQ community members every day
@ProgShopper @ATT 7. But @ATT gave $20,000 over the last two years to Marsha Blackburn, one of the most vehemently anti-gay members of Congress.

UPDATE: This Trump campaign Facebook ad, claiming there are only 10 minutes left to enter a contest for dinner with Trump, has been running for at least 12 hours

It's a clear violation of Facebook's rules against false or misleading ads, which its not enforcing
I have an inquiry into @Facebook, but after initially being responsive to my questions regarding Trump's ads, I haven't heard from them for several weeks

This is odd considering @robleathern, the Facebook exec in charge of advertising, has encouraged people to flag issues
Here is @robleathern encouraging people to report the ad through Facebook to improve its "automated systems"

Why is Facebook, a $500 billion company, using automated systems to review a few hundred ads from presidential candidates?

1. After 181 DAYS in power House Democrats have finally sued the administration to get Trump's tax returns

But there is a fundamental flaw to their lawsuit

Dems aren't being honest about WHY they want Trump's taxes

2. In the lawsuit, Dems say they need Trump's tax returns because they are considering legislative changes to the way IRS audits presidents

This is obviously not true

They are interested because they believe the returns may contain evidence of crimes!

3. Investigating Trump for crimes is totally legitimate. It's Congress' job to figure out if Trump committed "high crimes and misdemeanors" that would justify impeachment.

But House Democratic leaders think that impeachment is a political loser

The Trump campaign boasted it raised $100M last quarter, much of it online.

But how much has been raised through deceptive ads on Facebook?

Here is an ad, that has been running all day, that tells people there are only 10 minutes left to enter a contest for dinner w/Trump
Facebook has rules against false and misleading ads but they are letting the Trump campaign run an ad for multiple hours that claims there are only 10 minutes left to enter its contest for dinner with Trump
The ad saying there is only 10 minutes left is running simultaneous with an ad saying you can get two entries if you enter anytime before midnight

Since a lot of people seem unable to let go of this subject, let’s talk about @TaylorSwift13 and her music video You Need To Calm Down.
From what I can see, some people are arguing the following ideas:
-Taylor Swift ‘queerbaiting’ for marketing purposes;
-The message being lost by talking about female pop stars;
-Inaccurate portrayal of the protesters and the LGBTQ+ community.
First of all, if you think Taylor Swift needs this as a marketing stunt or that “she needs the push to sell more records,” then sadly I’d argue you’re the one who’s disconnected from the US and the rest of the world.

I rarely make reference to religion here beyond noting the extreme hypocrisy permeating the evangelical Christian movement's support of @realDonaldTrump.

But next month @UMChurch will make a decision with far reaching implications and I feel compelled to comment.

In January 2017 the General Conference of the United Methodist Church appointed a 32 member body called the 'Commission on a Way Forward' to examine the church's official policies regarding the $LGBTQ community.

The Commission studied the issue for a year.

In March of 2018 they issued their findings. Their report was made public and handed over last year to the Council of Bishops for examination who spent weeks examining and considering its content.
