New York’s ability to insert drama into every single legislative action, no matter what (here, re: SG Underwood), is a constant in this ever-changing world of ours.
To be clear, the unnecessary drama here appears to be coming from Cuomo. I would generally concur with this response from the former spokesperson in the NY AG’s office:
FWIW, it appears that Cuomo‘s office gave Underwood (who, as pointed out elsewhere, doesn’t work for Cuomo) less than four hours time to provide a legal opinion on this before publicly lambasting her tonight.

THIS MORNING: Orders coming from #SCOTUS at 9:30a, followed by one or more opinions in argued cases at 10a. As this @SCOTUSblog chart shows, 24 cases remain to be handed down.
JUST IN: #SCOTUS sends Klein, the Oregon baker case, back to the state courts to reconsider it in light of Masterpiece, an unusual move, given that the cert petition was relisted for 10 conferences before the court made this decision to grant, vacate, and remand the case.
No new merits grants, and no action on the DACA cert petitions. #SCOTUS orders here: supremecourt.gov/orders/courtor…

🚨When @ngeidner told Henry (his son) that he doesn't like cold drinks and that's why he drinks coffee, Henry corrected him and said coffee can be cold. When asked how he knew that, he said it was b/c of me. He reminded Nick that I had iced coffee at his 5th birthday. BLOOP.

You both said legalizing marijuana was a serious legislative priority this year, but here we are, the final day of the session, with Democrats controlling the whole government, and no bill has passed.

Please get this done. Extend the session.
For the first time in a generation, Democrats control New York's Governorship, Assembly, and Senate.

10 states + DC have now legalized marijuana.

But here we are, with New York in a complete holding pattern.

It's an embarrassment.

The most average jobs in terms of annual earnings are “front-line supervisors of sales workers” and “chefs and head cooks.”
The metro area with the highest density of reporters relative to all jobs is not DC but ... Missoula, followed by Great Falls.
It’s a subtle difference but journalists earn more in the DC market than in New York on top of the fact that the cost of living is somewhat lower here.
