4/ And even though we all love it when grandma loves us and our weird “career” choices….

5/ And even though it could make Ripple completely irrelevant...

6/ Yes, it could be ultra cool and a huge step for mass adoption, especially if they nail the on/off ramps...

7/ And yes, it does have the potential to impact emerging economies and be a "beneficial detour on the path to broader #bitcoin adoption”…

8/ But, is it still crypto if it’s fucking your privacy in the butt?

9/ Is it still crypto if we just swap out old financial bureaucrats for middle-aged, data-controlling tech bros?

10/ Is it still crypto if it’s controlled exclusively by a (new) elite?

11/ Regardless of what emerges from Facebook / Libra / GlobalCoin / ZuckBucks—if it’s a net-positive, net-negative, or actually nothing—this should be a wake-up call for those of us who are here today:

Crypto is what 𝐰𝐞 fight to make it.

We’re seeing a lot of misinformation related to the Constantinople delay. e.g. “Why wasn’t this detected sooner?” and/or “blah blah blah everyone sucks dump ETH”. Let’s dive into the nature of the bug. 🐛
EIP1283 (eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-1283) makes some changes to how you interact with smart contracts. Namely, it attempts to make some contract interactions cheaper and/or more efficient.
The implementation of EIP1283 was sound. The code is fine. The idea behind it is fine. There is not a “bug” in the code of this EIP. It does what is intended.

The potential vulnerability lies at the contract level—not the EVM/opcode/EIP level.

1/ Alright kids, let's talk real for a second about crypto companies and $$$ and 2017's ICO-madness. 😡
2/ For the last year+, y'all have been throwing—literally THROWING—money at projects, fancy white papers, or fancy ideas, with very little code or no code.
3/ To be clear: I cannot think of one ICO that had a functioning product with users when they asked for your money. 😑

Yet they got your money. Some of you invested because you believed in the project or team, but most invested hoping to make a quick buck flipping the token.

1/ As we've been looking into the recent network congestion / high gas prices, one of the more interesting things to come to light involves a random exchange (whom we will not name as this is likely part of their "PR strategy")
2/ This exchange apparently has come up with a mind-numbingly despicable voting mechanism that, quite literally, incentivizes Sybil attacks. 🤯

per @fielding's disseration, in order to achieve his desired architectural properties (chap02) and meet the WWW's domain requirements (chap04), he wanted to establish a set of required constraints (chap05). most ppl just focus on chap05 and i recommend focusing on chap02. 2/10
there @fielding makes a case that arch properties are induced by the set of contraints you select. thus, he creates his set of contraints for inducing his desired properties and names that #REST. 3/10
