OMG.
How is this not disqualifying on its face?
Eastland never called #Biden "boy" because he wasn't black. I guarantee you he called black men "boy" and worse.
Why are we on a nostalgia tour of the Jim Crow era with Biden?
This is as terrible as #Biden's stance on abortion, his assurances that Pence and Cheney are actually really nice guys and that #AnitaHill should just get over herself already.
My parents--Biden's generation-- were Civil Rights workers. Talmadge and Eastland who #Biden invoked with fondness tonight, were notorious. These were not names to drop with nostalgia. These men were purveyors of white supremacy. They were no different than Trump. Just smarter.
At some point people have to pay attention to history, to facts. Many of you are so busy dissing #HillaryClinton you've forgotten that she had what is still, to date, our most progressive platform. Match that. Exceed that. But please, do NOT take us back 60 years or more.

This really should be titled "even though Warren has better and more informed policy that is squarely to the left of Sanders AND includes women, I have to insist that Bernie is better because he's had the same POV since college."

This piece is correct in that Bernie is an ideologue and Warren is a bit of an arrivist, but Warren has passed more legislation in her short time in Congress than Sanders has in his 30yrs.
Nwanevu makes no case for Sanders' independent status and fluffs Sanders' record.

Not does Nwanevu explain Bernie's slender resume. This is frustrating when Warren has done so much over such an extensive career that included raising kids and putting her husband and herself through school.
Why do we expect so much less of men than we do women?

James L. Cates Jr., a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill’s historically black Northside neighborhood, would’ve turned 70 this weekend. But at 22, he was stabbed and left to die at the heart of @UNC’s campus in 1970.
This will be a (long) thread about the circumstances surrounding James Cates’s death, and the role of UNC and police.
The full story of James’s murder has never been told. That it happened at all had largely been forgotten, whitewashed from Chapel Hill memory and history.

It‘s a brand new 160km standard gauge rail line that will run from Iddo in Lagos, through Ogun State, to Ibadan in Oyo State. Construction in progress.
