There's going to be a general election anyway within the next three months.
The SNP will have a manifesto for independence and claim a mandate for it when they win most seats.
The government that follows will very likely need those SNP votes for a majority.
And when Scotland has another referendum, it's most likely they will vote for independence because of England's behaviour since the last one.
A new prime minister with no majority. A general election. A manifesto for Scottish independence. A hung parliament. SNP co-operation. An independence referendum.
The Tories could be three months away from destroying the country. But they don't act like it, do they? That's the strange thing. It would be such a psychological blow they would never recover.
And yet they don't act like it's real.
