I'm not sure who needs this, but it's time I put together a fresh thread compiling/recompiling concerns with Elizabeth Warren.

If I'm to believe she's an ally, and good enough to be POTUS or even to be VP, then these are thorny subjects she *will* need to answer for.

Let's go:
First of all: we should follow the money. Corrupting corporate and wealthy cash underpins much of why we can't have nice things.

And Warren's record on this, in spite of her recent corporate PAC pledge...leaves much to be desired.

Getting your midterms cash from the likes of Stephen Cozen (head of a union-busting law firm) and Ed Rendell are both a pretty bad look.

Remember that a lot of this cash was literally transferred to her presidential account, so remains quite relevant.
Taking money from insurance companies, banks, AND MIC PACs.

I wonder why she voted for those defense budget hikes and keeps waffling on Medicare for All? 🤷‍♀️
Speaking of MIC, here's a fun piece from 2015 about how nicely she apparently plays with the war profiteers in her own state. Nothing to see here, I'm sure. politico.com/story/2015/02/…
So, about Medicare for All and those "many paths"...
Oh, look who else was funneling cash through various other PACs her way. Hello, Monsanto!
"But Hoot, this isn't fair. The cash came from other PACs. How could she possibly know about this?"

Fine. But she *could* help taking fundraising cash from Cozen, from Rendell, and from *checks notes* a vice chair of NASDAQ, for crying out loud.
I'm gonna come back to one particularly questionable PAC she got cash from in a few.

But this in itself is also pretty troubling.
Yeah, cash from Renaissance is a bit of a yikes.

Know what else is a yikes? Her past record on charter schools (and who one of her advisors is, if true): gadflyonthewallblog.com/2019/06/04/cha…
Then there was...whatever this was (and to my knowledge, there's also no video of what she said at this):
OK, now let's look at that PAC I mentioned earlier. Because apparently, its honorary chair and affiliate is none other than TIM KAINE.

In an environment where, for the past several weeks, you've had Warren bizarrely boosted and propped up by everyone from Third Way to Neera Tanden to MSNBC to Donut Twitter, this is a cash flow that should raise no less than SEVERAL DOZEN RED FLAGS.
We remember well from 2016 that the Clintons had an awful lot of reach in MSM.

Warren would do well for herself in condemning these interests' use of her as a sockpuppet to undercut Bernie and undermine "party unity."

Instead, she's gone from throwing shade at him to gone quiet
She's hired more than one Hillary staffer, ie. Ashley Woolheater for press secretary.

She also brought on "PAC Man" Paul Egerman, who literally donated over a million dollars to Brock org American Bridge 21st the past few years! publicintegrity.org/federal-politi…
Including $650K during the 2016 primaries!

Somehow, I doubt this guy has had some Peter Daou-like awakening, but I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.

Here's Hillary also participating in this "prop up Warren" game while punching Bernie down.
Save nothing for Warren applauding Trump's line at SOTU about "America will never be a socialist country," for laughing about Bernie's democratic socialism speech, for preaching to the world unironically about what a capitalist she is...I could go on.

Oh, and going MIA in 2016.
Rather than largely tinker around the edges with all these "plans" of hers, Warren needs to decide whose side she's on.

And when you pre-commit to taking corporate money in the event you win the Democratic primary on dubious pretense, well...
Oh, did I mention Warren's top career donor is EMILY's List?

Not exactly great progressive supporters, those folks... reddit.com/r/WayOfTheBern…
I'm starting to think the screaming, nonsensical outrage last week at the very idea Bernie *might* have called Warren a corporate Dem (he wasn't) wasn't a coincidence.

What was it Andrew Gillum said once...how "a hit dog will holler?" 🤔
I'm well aware that was in response to DeSantis crying offense at being called out for his racism.

But, and I hate to say this, "a hit dog will holler" seems entirely too on-point with MSM's reaction to Warren *possibly* being called a corporate Dem (even though it wasn't true).
I also hate to say this, but it looks like Warren is actually fine with all of this. She's willing to let these forces use her to split progressives, even if it means Uncle Joe wins.

After all, Uncle Joe could make her VP for the same reasons Tom Perez made Ellison vice chair.
And if Joe drops out, then perhaps a Kamala or someone else.

My point is this, and I don't care what cool follows I lose for saying it:

WARREN IS A TRAITOR IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING.

It needs to be said. Please, DO change my mind on this.
Now, I still believe what I've been saying for some time: I DO still think she could do a lot of good in a cabinet post under someone who HAS shown strong leadership qualities.

But led to her own devices, she's making one bad decision after another, kneecapping progressives.
Nor do I believe our interests are served in trashing Warren supporters. Remember, whatever you may believe of Warren, many of her supporters also like Bernie and can be persuaded to our side. The key is to highlight his longer, stronger track record with these folks.
But we should not be fooled where Warren herself is concerned. Her 2016 past only further makes all this worse for her.

She needs to decide whose side she's on if she wants one iota of our confidence in her, even as VP.
Yes, more egregious bastards like Joe are worse than she is. But right now, she's at least allowing herself to undercut "friends."

Right now, I have NO confidence she would pool her delegates behind Bernie at the convention. I honestly think she would pool elsewhere first.
Warren, unlike a certain Sanders Institute fellow I could name, lacks the record showing she would put the agenda over potential personal gain in the end.

It sucks having to think that about Warren. I want her to change my and others' minds on all this. I really do.
So the ball is your court, Liz.

Change my mind. ✌️ /END
PS. Though they slipped my mind at the time, and I don't agree with all the stabs in this thread, I do recall seeing some of these policy receipts in the past--no doubt affecting my current view that Warren regrettably seems a traitor.
