But here is an article from "authority." (which does water it down some). Inquisitions are offices of the Church, authorized by the Pope, lasted for several hundred years. A state sometimes requested it, but the Pope was the authority to shower this love.

Sorry, your Church's woo-woo doesn't work here. Construct an academic argument. I am providing you academic sources. What part is "lost"? Are you disputing that the Pope authorized the inquisition? (Haven't even got to the magnum opus by Deschner yet. 😏)
The problem with the Church "faithful" is that reality would challenge all the lies the Church has fed them since childhood. So no evidence will work. A faithful even claimed to have raped his own daughter to protect the priest, such is the brainwashing.
