... as recently as February 2019 their CEO warned they were having to rethink UK commitments (it's an Irish firm) due to Brexit.

So like the car firms, and others, once the final decision is taken and the axe swung, Brexit is studiously not mentioned to avoid irritating some of their customer base unnecessarily (rubbing it in won't keep the factories open).
