Re: #MarshaeJones. For those defending AL in charging the shooting victim for her miscarriage by claiming she was "beating" the shooter, there are a few issues:

Not only has there been no explanation of how far the alleged "physical altercation" went, but the other woman
Ebony Jemison, has no visible wounds in the picture from December. To allege that #MarshaeJones five months into a pregnancy, was hitting Miss Jemison to the point where Miss Jemison needed to use lethal force and yet her face is bruise and laceration free is a reach.
There is no evidence to suggest Miss Jemison was in fear of her life to justify lethal force. Further, this is not being done in the interest of justice. I can find no mention of #MarshaeJones being charged with assault and battery of Miss Jemison, a far more appropriate charge.
If anybody else can, correct me. But the lack of assault and battery charges by Alabama tells me this isn't about justice; it's about creating a precedent to punish pregnant women for miscarrying. #MarshaeJones, a woman who had no control over the gun and was wounded herself
Is essentially being charged with harming herself. Idk how AL will deal with the"personhood" hurdle since their new definition of personhood to include a fetus didnt pass until last month. In this case, the AL statute for manslaughter requires that a PERSON be recklessly killed.
In December, the fetus was not considered a person under AL law. You cannot punish a defendant using a law that didn't exist when the "crime" was committed.

Conclusion: This case has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with controlling women.
