-Reliance was a 99K cr empire in 2005 when the feud between 2 brothers became public.
-The private conflict became public when the annual report released had both Mukesh & Dhirubhai Ambani's photo but no Anil Ambani.

-Did you know after the division,Anil became 3rd richest man in India surpassing Mukesh Ambani.
-By 2006,Anil Ambani was Rs 550 cr richer than Mukesh Ambani.
-While Mukesh had 2 prime companies, Anil Ambani had 7 prime companies under his belt.
-In next 14 years this happened:

-Mukesh Ambani became not just richer but RICHEST man in India.
-The net worth difference between both brothers grew by more than 50B$.
-Its not like Mukesh like his brother didn't take debts.Both took but Anil defaulted on dollar bond payments while Muked didn't.

-In 2005 Mukesh wanted to enter big time in telecom and reduce cost of calls but post partition had to leave the dream as the telecom co. Went to Anil.
-As per a non compete agreement till 2010 Mukesh couldn't venture into telecom sector. But post 2010 he heavily invested for 7yr

-This is how the phenomenon called GIO came into existence.
-One advantage that Mukesh had was he focussed on cash generating units like Reliance while Anil in anticipation of making big bucks,went into debt intensive units like defence,power etc
-The debts of Anil escalated.

-As a consequence,Anil had to frequently sell his co. Assets.
-Today ADAG group are in deep trouble while Reliance continues to shine.
-Learnings: Times change,managing available resources is imp,hard work beats talent,consistency is key,debt is enemy & ego kills.
