Instead of showing us his tax returns, Donald is figuring out how to go around Congress to give his rich friends even more of a tax cut. Instead of obeying the law of the land, he thumbs his nose at every Congressional subpoena. Instead of answering to a new rape charge he says

Instead of celebrating the Fourth of July as a patriot, he is hijacking the national holiday of independence as a hate rally worthy of a Leni Riefenstahl propaganda film. The irony of him wanting military pageantry when he faked his bone spurs to get out of Vietnam is obvious.
Instead of being brought to some sort of justice, we have to witness him swan around with the Queen of England. All the while this is going on, he is finding infinite ways to get rich. Emoluments don’t mean a damn thing. Ethics are a laugh. Integrity at the White House is gone.
Instead of feeling invested in Congressional oversight, I feel fed up, pissed off, bitterly disappointed. The raping and pillaging of the republic continues unabated, unchecked, while every institution I had faith in is burned to the ground.
Instead of believing we will have free and fair elections, I am reading about Donald’s disinformation plaguing a fake Biden account. Instead of faith in the system, I fear it’s broken. What’s ahead? More golf, more yak hair, more fake tan, more propping up by complicit enablers.
Instead of ending concentration camps for children still seized from their parents at the border, the private companies which donate to Donald continue to make bank on the tears, hunger, fears, health of babies through teenagers. It is unimaginably horrible, but #DontLookAway
I do know that we can not give up. That it is a sacred duty to resist. I do know that I have children and grandkids for whom I want better than this. Eventually I will restore myself, gather my strength of purpose, come back for more standing up.
It will take everything we have collectively to flip state legislatures, restore women’s rights to reproductive health care, and end gun violence. As for the climate, I don’t know. The existential crisis is now, I fear it is too far gone. Much remains to be done. #StayStrong
