Today — literally today — the draft of the Declaration of Independence Jefferson wrote that included his passage on King George’s monstrous slave trade was on special display at the N.Y. Public Library. Jefferson wanted it to be in the final draft.

The progressive mob has no interest in exploring a complicated past — the mob is simply convinced of its own ethical superiority. I’d bet not a single person involved in Charlotteville’s decision bothered to learn a damn thing about Jefferson.
