I don’t care for the fact that the RNC is distributing some tickets, but the DNC did the same for WH events under Clinton and Obama. The media didn’t seem to care then. washingtonpost.com/politics/white…
As for the military displays, it’s great. I was in DC in ‘91 for a military parade, complete with tanks. Every generation or so, it’s wonderful that DC residents can enjoy a patriotic military display. July 4th is as good a day as any to thrill people and honor our armed forces.
I watched CNN this morning deride the July 4th military display. They interviewed a D Congressman who dismissed it as Trump being “vain glorious”. I don’t think CNN or the Ds realize how they’re coming across as anti-military. Their hatred for Trump overwhelms them.

The most troubling part of NYT editor Dean Baquet’s speech to his newsroom was his admission: “our readers...cheer us when we take on Donald Trump.” He added that Trump voters don’t read the Times.
He claims that the Times will be “independent.” Good luck with that. It’s financially impossible for a newspaper that knows what its readers want for that paper to be independent. If they don’t serve their customers, they’ll lose them.
As former NYT editor Jill Abramson pointed out, on-line readership of the Times surged after Trump was elected. Financially, this saved the paper which was in deep economic decline. Subscribers saw in the NYT hope for resistance.

The London Mayor's attack on Pres. Trump and Trump's response is not without precedent. London Mayor Ken Livingstone in May 2003 said about Pres. Bush, "I think George Bush is the most corrupt president since Harding in the twenties. He is not the legitimate president."
When the WH press corps asked me about it I said, ""First of all, I've never heard of the fellow. Second, I'm not going to dignify it with a response." I think I hurt his feelings when I said I never heard of him.
In both instances, the fault doesn't lie with the American president. It lies with left-wing mayors playing to their left-wing bases. This is about British domestic politics.
