"Islam oppresses women! In Islam, a woman's testimony is half that of a man! Why do Muslim men inherit twice as much as women?"

Let me teach you something, boi.
Thread style.
With regards to testimony of women in Islam, there's a fine line between riwaayah and shahadah. Aisha RAA was one of the greatest scholars and mass chain narrators of hadeeth.

1
As for shahada, Prophet Muhammad PBUH took the shahada of a black woman over two people's testimony - this entails the right of a woman to speak, the weight of what she says, and that racism is not part of Islam.

2
As far as the ayah quoted [out of context], it is the longest ayah in the Quran and sheds light on specific rulings such as witness in court *in reference to* financial transactions.

3
Addressing the erroneous presupposition that being a witness equates being of upper class, in court, one can be punished for being a false witness.

4
So if anything, this is a benefit and an honourary position for women that if one forgets]due pressure or whatever], she has the luxury of having another woman by her side - as the ayah says - to remind her. It's a means of protection & preservation for women, not degradation!

5
If one made a mistake, the other can remind her, whereas, if a man makes a mistake in being a witness, he will be held accountable and be punished, for he/she he was being a witness against were to be punished for his false testimony.

6
Moreover, in a perfect Muslim society, men are obligated to provide for the women, so they should generally be more aware of financials, nevertheless, one of the greatest business persons of the time of the Prophet PBUH, was Lady Khadija...

7
…whom he worked for, and out of his good manners, she proposed! It is also worth mentioning that the testimony of women in some cases aren't just equal, but the only valid ones! Issues relating to women; their biology, pregnancy…, can only be testified by women, never a man!

8
So, do women inherit less than men? Another misconception. In 24 cases of inheritance, 4 cases include men inheriting more than women, 10 cases include equal inheritance, and the remaining 14 cases have women inheriting more than men!

9
What is interesting is that even in the cases that men earn more or equal to the women, it is the man whom is obligated to provide for the women; she has the absolute right to keep it all to herself, and he has the obligation to spend on her.

10
This is why 4:34 says men are "qawwaamoon" over women. Some wrong translations out there say that men are superior, but what is closest to the correct meaning is that men are the maintainers and protectors of women - mental, physical, and financial.

11
So the man may get more gross income, but the women get more net income!

12
There's a reason why 66% of those whom choose to embrace the world's fastest religion are women! ☺

13
If you're a non-Muslim woman reading this, re-evaluate your options, think about your purpose, and do not allow yourself to be submitted to low societal and cultural values; Allah holds you at a much higher status - so high, that heaven is at your feet! ☺
