You guys. I'm caring for a widowed old fella today and he says his lady friend from up the street has been visiting. He thinks she likes him but he says "I'm not sure I can collect the muster if you know what I mean".
Said he hasn't had a first date in 58 years...
SHE'S HERE!

She's holding his hand and he just keeps staring at it. Sometimes he reaches over and pats it.

I wish I could record a video of them... I'm playing a Spotify playlist (Old Love Songs) on an old iPhone (because I meddle) and now they are singing On a Bicycle Built for Two.

My heart might explode.

Supper trays were just dropped off (I don't even work here I'm just on outreach today) They were talking about fav food - his: pancakes hers: eggs benny

He said 'maybe when I get out we can go to Denny's and have breakfast for dinner'

She said 'that would be nice dear'
Ok she's gathered her things to leave. She leaned in to kiss his cheek, he gently pats her arm while shaking her hand & thanks her for the visit. She asks if she can see him again and he just said 'Lord Willing'.

He looked over to me with huge smile, winked & gave thumbs up 💞

I stayed for hours after my shift yesterday to be with a little girl whose daddy was dying. We coloured and sang and wandered the secret passageways of the hospital. She confided in me that she is in fact Hermione Granger, a good wizard. I made her a special wand...
She said she only uses her magic for good. She cast spells that all the sick people would get better. She cast a best friend spell on us. She stole my heart & everyone who met her.

I have never met such a special little girl & I started to believe she did hold magical powers
The whole purpose in spending that time with her was to shield her, even if only for those moments, the grief of watching daddy pass away, and allow mommy private time to be with him.
But also to keep her close by for the frequent hugs Mom would come and collect...

Came in this am to discover my pt from yesterday had imaging overnight that revealed catastrophic injuries, along with her sepsis and multi-system organ failure
Within 1/2 hr her fiance approached me about calling in a chaplain, which I assume is to do final prayers. He informs me that he wants to marry her. Today.

I'm not sure b/c pt is sedated and fully ventilated, with no hope of waking up.
Spend next few hours calling chaplains/priests/ministers. Keep in mind it's Sunday AM and church is happening soon.
I find out that if we can show "intent to marry" that a ceremony can be performed. Photos of pt trying on dress are used. A minister agrees to come after church.

1. Bad rules of engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq got people killed, needlessly. Part I of this series provided an overview of what ROEs are in general, with some expert commentary on bad ROEs, etc.
2. Part II continues commentary from a couple of folks who wish to remain anonymous (special ops, covert CIA contractor, Marine) on Iraq ROEs and the politicization of both the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns. I then wrap up the series with a short summary and conclusions.
3. <begin quotes> Same-o for Iraq, but by then the FBI had honed their skills at causing grief. I hate to say it, but I once let three guys get away that had lit me up with a PKM at night, landing me (alone) on the side of the road.

Saw U2’s sixth U.S. show, at the Main Event in Providence, 80 people, then again a few months later at CenterStage in RI. Saw R.E.M. at the Living Room in Providence two or three times, same 80 people. #old
Saw Throwing Muses play “dollar night” for 20 people; if you showed up, they gave you a dollar.

Schwere Herzkrankheit des Verstorbenen seit Geburt, mehrere Herzoperationen danach, versagensbereites Herz durch das es jederzeit zu einem Herzinfarkt kommen konnte.

Ob jemand strafrechtlich verantwortlich ist für den Herzinfarkt, ist im Ermittlungsverfahren.

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
